I love animals, and most people, although I do make exceptions. If you're not inclined to click on the link, it's the story, of course, of the "young activist" who changed her name to "goveg.com", without her employer, PETA, even knowing about the idea beforehand. Right. Maybe I'm trying too hard to qualify for an early curmudgeon badge, but the older I get the more I think that extremists - on any side of an issue - only end up looking foolish and devaluing whatever merit was in their position to begin with.

Hmm, apparently that guy I hired to periodically update the old 'blog hasn't been carrying the water very well lately. You just can't get good help nowadays.

Alright then, in the absence of good help here's some Good News for a change: my nephew Dan the Marine is home from Iraq. He even got written up in his hometown newspaper, although I didn't see any page one stories about him in the papers around here, or any live coverage on CNN for that matter.

Doesn't matter. Dan's still a hero in my book. Welcome home, Cpl. Warseck. May more of your fellow soldiers come home as well.

Fascinating Update to the Engrossing Story from a Few Days Ago About us Switching to DSL

Um, we did it. It seems to be working out okay now.

Lance Armstrong hasn't been by to beg us to switch back to Comcast yet, either, so I guess they didn't really want our business after all.

Those inclined to do so may now write me at yhbc AT verizon DOT net. Oh, and all the nice pictures I had stored on the attbi webspace (especially the ones accompanying the D.C. post from last December) aren't there any more, so there will be a lot of red "x" boxes in the archives until and unless I get around to putting the pictures up in our verizon webspace and changing all the links. Drat.
